I can’t tell you how proud of myself I am for the continued effort (and lack of pathetic excuses) I’ve been putting forward when it comes to actually going t the gym. As I’ve mentioned before,, it’s been about a year since I’ve last been to the gym and in total we’ve had this membership for about 3 yrs and even if I use a scientific calculator… we’ve only used it for about 30 days in maximum over that time. Yet every month we fork over $50 in fees, since then.
As I moved from the “weights” section to the treadmill area to try and burn some calories, I found that after 3 minutes, something just wasn’t right. I know I struggled the last time I hit the treadmill and had to stop after about 25 minutes of walking. But 3 minutes? Am I that out of shape? Or is it about drive? As I paid closer attention I soon realize that I wasn’t listening to the normal music I would, when I was on the treadmill. I shuffled things around on my iPod and was back in the groove. I still can’t go past 25 minutes, but I did increase my speed to 3.2 and the incline to 3.9 . So at least I’ve made it a bit more strenuous.
So the question of the day is.. What part does music play in your workout? When I’m in the weights area I like listening to stuff from the top 100, Rap and Hip Hop anything with a bit of a “bang”, but when I jump on that pony they call the treadmill, it must be high energy. Like Soca or house music and it MUST be a continuous mix. No pausing for songs to change over or I’ll never get a good routine going.
Here’s what Fitness Magazine list as the top 100 (I didn’t list all) songs used during working out:
